LONG THOUGHTS ON A KALAHARI DRIVEWAY

Champagne sky
becomes cerulean clouds
I drive
Gliding trancefully
these ancient undulations
I drive on
‘Strate’ of grass(lands)
and valleys of red roads
I drive still
It’s a sight
momentus even
magnificent Roan by day
and Bat-eared fox at night
I drive through
A surprise buffalo
and a lunch time squirrel
I drive passed
Patriot emblems
cross my path
I’m sharing nights with the stars
I’m captured
I drive in thought
I’m here a few moons I realise
Not to rest, but to delight
In basins of beauty
I drive with conviction
Knowing there’s a sunrise
I have never seen
Presented by a natural duo force
I drive in rhythm
It’s partly secret
and its preservation at its best
you are here to witness its wonder
this scape
in this moment
I drive along
Only to arrive
astounded
